Malta and Feast of Strawberries!

Every April in Malta, in the village of Mgarr, you can join the feast of strawberries, called in Maltese Frawli Friska. Mgarr is a small and isolated village surrounded only by fields and vineyards situated at west of the most central Mosta.

This year the festival will take place on the 10th of April from 10 am to 5 pm and, as usual, the atmosphere you’ll breathe will be that of the red of strawberries together with the sweet flavour of this fruit that thrives here in Malta, many farmers cultivate them and their flavour is really fabulous.

All stands are dedicated to the red fruit, strawberry jam, strawberry ice cream and milk shake, … in short, turning around strawberries are everywhere, sold in containers and sometimes they have big dimensions, but always without compromising their sweet taste.

Even if you’re in a particularly windy day, the sun will warm you up, and it’s pleasant to stay outside and join this festival with your friends or simply together with local people who participate actively in this event.

Between songs and traditional costumes you can also choose to dine at one of the stall that (keep calm!) doesn’t offer foods made of strawberry yet, but fast food, such as hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets and furthermore so you can take away and eat at one of the tables available for dining.
A pleasant day and a happy and cheerful feast in this place which offers history and ancient culture other than sea and beaches.
